Call for Artists

Roosevelt Road "Art Plaza" Panels

The Berwyn Public Art Initiative (BPAI), in partnership with the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC), is seeking local artists to design and create public art for a new creative pocket park on Roosevelt Road.

This project is made possible by the City of Berwyn and a Cook County Arts Creative Placemaking grant, with technical assistance from LISC Chicago. #LISC #CookCountyArts #CreativePlacemaking.

The Opportunity

  • Project: Create one of three public art panels to hang behind the park stage.

  • Medium: Art will be created on a provided 4ft x 4ft Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) panel.

  • Duration: Panels will be publicly displayed for 11 months.

  • Future Registry: Submissions will also be used to build a shortlist for future park art iterations.

Compensation & Future Sales

  • Artist Fee: $600 flat rate (covers labor and additional materials; panel is provided free). Please Note: Selected Artists will need to submit W-2

  • Post-Display Sale: After 11 months, artwork will be auctioned or sold.

  • Profit Split: If the sale exceeds $746 (fee + panel cost), remaining proceeds are split 50/50 between the artist and BPAI.

  • Community Reinvestment: BPAI’s revenue share directly funds the next year's artist panels to keep the space dynamic.
